  • Perdon pero esta mujer no esta hilando. Esta torciendo hilo antes de tejer. En los andes, para dar mas elasticidad al hilo, hay que torcerlo con la puchka antes de ponerlo en el telar.

  • oh! gracias. no sabía.

  • I believe she's actually plying.

  • amazing technique and skill! well captured!

  • And I thought I was a weirdo because I butterfly onto my fingers before winding on - I'm self taught, and it just seemed logical - nice to know I'm not the only one who does this! Spin on, sister!

  • Amazing how fast and casual she is. Reminds me of what beginner I truly am. Someday, I will get this fluid. :-)

  • Now this is technique! She's fast. This is hard to watch, as it's sideways, but look at the way she rolls the spindle in her hands to get a long, fast spin, and then butterflys the yarn onto her fingers to control it while winding on. These are ways to really make lots of yarn quickly and fluidly. Although I like to thigh-roll, myself, but the 2 handed twist looks great. I'm going to try it!
