New York City housing officials say the number Mexican nationals has increased by 14% in recent years and they brought their politics with them. (The number is hard to track due to the quantity of undocumented immigrants.)

At 117th and 2nd Ave in Spanish Harlem, now predominantly Mexican, volunteer artists gather to show their support for the ongoing struggle in Mexico.

"This mural was originally done in 2001 in reaction to the march that took place in Mexico City. The people who are here are either involved in one way or another or aware of what's going on in Mexico and we want to show our support."

Francisco and the volunteers expect to done with the mural by August 2008.
