This is an interview I did for a local television newsmagazine called Connect. I interviewed ESPN broadcaster Sean McDonough. We asked him five questions about his life. The interview will air on channel 9 in Syracuse sometime in March. I'll keep you updated.
Here's the introduction I taped:
Sean McDonough learned about sports journalism from his father - Will McDonough -- who worked at the Boston Globe as a sports reporter and columnist for more than 40 years. After graduating from Syracuse University in 1984, Sean went to work for the team he grew up rooting for -- the Boston Red Sox. At the age of 30, he became the youngest man to announce the World Series.
He has worked the winter Olympics, major golf tournaments and -- for the past ten years -- college basketball on ESPN. His broadcast career spans four decades and multiple networks. He also did the play-by-play for the six-overtime thriller between UConn and Syracuse -- the longest game in Big East history.
