RIP Kenny.....Played with Kenny many many times (bass) and he was one of funniest people I have ever had the pleasure of playing with.......He would announce that he was going to play "If I could be with you one hour tonight" and then go into a Brooklyn accent and say "If I could wit you one hour tonight"...always brought a laugh.

Oh Lord, this is so wonderful. I dance tap, and I love to dance that song with my tap dance shoes! Thanks for that charming video!

My Rainier Jazz Band recorded this in 1986, with our vocalist Ron Rustad - Lena from Palestina! LOL. "She was fat but she got leaner playing on he concertina!" Whoa. I think it sounds best with my TUBA and at a slower tempo. LOL. Our Banjo Player Professor Gene Silberberg brought this to our band from an ancient recording he found. It has been played by a select number of bands ever since including also my Wild Cards Jazz...Amazing how that works.

Hi ,Stephbec, Kenny toured Australia for me and we had a great relationship. i stiil have and play regularly one of Kenny,s old Centered tone clarinets which he sent to me.
I get lots of comments about its gorgeous tone. we miss him very much in Auatralia or as he called it lagerland.
Best wishes
Ron Flack
Lovely, though I wish I could have heard all of Dave's solo! He's one of the best in Britain, though admittedly he's more of a modern player. Kenny and Bob are sublime, though.

@2300skiddo Yes Dave is well worth listening to. I kept the shots short because although I had permission it can be a bit annoying to have your neighbour fidding about with a camcorder.

Another brilliant performance from Bob Wilber and Kenny Davern. Wonderful playing from everybody, and Kenny Davern especially is on top form here. Has all the footage from this gig been posted? This kind of playing whets the appetite for more! Thanks.

Hello Pug, I thoroughly agree on Bob Erwig's great contribution to jazz preservation, however he had nothing to do with the movies on this site. These Wilber/Davern movies were taken by me at Hanley Castle in 1995 and published on my site here. Your old friend and Cotswold neighbour, Mac Randle
