Here's my latest tutorial (as of 04-30-11):

I drew this with reference to another image of Miku I got off of Google, so... yeah. I was just curious as to how close I could get to the real one. Fun stuff! Took about four hours total.
Ah, and the song is Triple Baka, just in case you didn't know. :D

  • hey great work! also how is this program for drawing vs its big brother, photoshop? are there noticeable differences? thanks!

  • @laz3rb33m Umm... I actually have never used PS, but I'm guessing that PSE will more or less have everything you need for drawing purposes (just less photo editing features). Based off of other drawing videos (in PS) I've seen, you can more or less reproduce everything in PSE with an equivalent tool. Hope that helps and that I didn't make too many assumptions! xD

  • *dumb question* When I color the background , it tints all of the other layers that color. What exactly am I doing wrong? No tutorials will show me =A=

  • @neonkitteh That's not a dumb questions! But there are a ton of possible answers... Uh... Most likely is that you made all the other layers with tools that are semi-transparent (not opaque color like the pen tool). Try duplicating all the layers to see if that takes out some of the tinting. If that's not it, just drop another comment and I'll see if I can help! :D

  • I stumbled upon a problem when I made my outlines... :( I need more work space, I realized that I set my 'sheet of paper' too small in the beginning. Do you happen to know how to make it bigger or how to transfer my outlines to a new and bigger work space? I would appreciate your help very much!!

  • @Apfelkaninchen Waaaait, all that I just said was for a different drawing program. :P If none of it works, just tell me and I'll go over it again. xD

  • Hey I wanna ask a big favor if you could show me step by step on how you did all this. I dont have photoshop cs3 anymore and i'm trying to figure out how to use photoshop elements. >.< can you help me?

  • @budgiesRcool Thanks for the help!! ^^ I didn't really function but I found a solution. :)

  • @Apfelkaninchen Ah, you can transfer your outlines into a larger, more sketch-worthy outline if you want, but since you already made the original in that small resolution, it's gonna be pixelated when you enlarge it. But you'll at least have a sketch to go by! To make a new workspace, press "ctrl+n" and deal with the canvas size there. Make sure you have your old outline copied, then paste it into your new canvas. Then I think "ctrl+t" will let you adjust the size. :D

  • @budgiesRcool Thanks sooooo much! :DDDD Now I can really color faster! >:3
