Part One of a video designed to give people - aspiring and current writers, to be specific - a general idea of how I got started, what tools I used when I started and what I use now, etc. I know I say "sorta" a bit too much, but that will be correct in future videos. :) Please note that I am not an expert and I don't make money as a writer right now. What I'm trying to do is learn by sharing information and reaching readers and writers alike. I am just like the majority of readers and writers out there, except I've been fortunate to have been published a couple of times. I'm still learning and want to help others, because only by sharing knowledge do we gain knowledge. I hope you enjoy.
@OEVMoficial maybe i'm just a hipster, but I dislike it when a genuine talent is exploited for mass-appeal. you take a dark and plausible fantasy universe and distill it down to sex scenes...

Thanks for the reference books. What I find difficult is I want to write a YA story. I have six characters now. I struggle with books that all the dialogue from the characters sound the same. I have grandsons who are seven to almost 13 and daughters from 24 to 30. I'm 48. Slang, I believe, is sometimes a fad and sometimes sticks around. I need that recorder to write the meaning and nuances of the words! Thanks great video.

great tip about George R.R. Martin! Before the Game of Thrones tv series, not many readers got to his awesome work...althought, today in 2011, thanks to HBO everybody knows him xD
Great vids man! You do a very good job!
Cheers from Brazil.

Files 1 and 2? Sure they're not 0 and 1? ;) I like the idea of recording ideas as well when no writing implement is available; iphone now has a voice recorder that goes directly into iTunes, which I find pretty useful. Thanks again for posting!
