While @ 2009 Fort Greene Park Sumer Literary Festival Toure' read from this piece he wrote not yet published i criticized the piece as Banishing Black Women, Stereotypical and then spurred this whirlwind discussion on Twitter. Why did i feel the need to confront Toure and lose my status as one of the few he actually followed and would correspond with? watch the video...

While I think his story was an "attempt" to criticize some of our black leadership - their powerlessness due to an overwhelming need to attack hotbed issues vs. attacking some of the lingering & pervasive problems in the community (yeah, I do sorta "get" that) - the shyt was poorly executed, and inappropriate for the audience, who CLEARLY would not be able to understand the sarcasm, parody, dry wit or whateva-the-F you want to call humor on the piece.

He should of kept it positive in front of children..A child's mind is very fragile but can be shaped into something positive..Tourex should not have took it there in front of impressional minds.. btw Im following you..my twitter is @sistapoetry
