Hello everyone! This here is my Denon DP-47F Fully Automatic 2-Speed Turntable. This turntable can play both 33 1/3 and 45 rpm records. It plays 12" records automatically with the push of a button ("START"). The turntable doesn't play 10" or 7" records automatically. The needle must be placed manually in order to do so. The turntable lacks a cueing lever, but includes a "Lifter" button instead. This button allows you to toggle between the tonearm being raised or lowered with the touch of a button. This turntable also features "Locate" buttons. These buttons allow you to change the position of the tonearm automatically. While majority of the functions are automatic, you can perform all standard tasks (placing the needle, positioning the tonearm, starting a record, etc.) manually if preferred. The turntable features a stylus force dial next to the tonearm.

The cartridge equipped is a Denon DL-110 cartridge. This is a MOVING COIL cartridge and includes a frequency range of 20Hz - 45,000Hz. The price is around the $140 range. It features a diamond stylus.

The year this turntable was made is unknown to me, but I do know it was made in the 1980s. When my father purchased this (when it came out) the price was $800+.

Thanks for watching and I'll post more videos soon. The record featured was the REISSUE of The Beatles-Abbey Road. I will use this turntable for most of my 45s and LPs. LPs and 45s that are very very scratchy will be played with my Zenith turntable (when I get it working again). 78s will be played on my Packard Bell stereo (soon to be acquired).

  • This is a fantastic turntable you have---I,too,have the DP 47F (silver bezel/button trim---which I like better than the later version in black trim)...One of the last models, other than the DP 59L, from Denon where the build quality and sound were manufactured to pretty good high standards! Like yours, mine still works flawlessly---something to be said for those Denons---I would still like to own the 62L or 72L (the Denons with the 'flying saucer' lights for the control buttons).

  • @vinylspinner3345 Thanks. I love this turntable. It produces such great sounds in real life. I like the Denon 62L and 72L as well, but I've never seen one in real life. =)

  • Hi Your dad really knew his audio equipment. Those old Denons are among the best. I have a Denon DP-60L which is kinda the manual version of yours. I think it's great that a young guy like you has such an interest in vinyl. Most people your age have no clue but you know what they're missing. Great Video. Check out my Denon video.

  • Thanks. Yup, my Dad really did know his audio equipment. This baby is hooked up into two Infinity speakers and a Denon HD-receiver. It sounds soo much better than my camera can reproduce. You can say I'm starting to learn too because I picked out the cartridge and the receiver when our Pioneer receiver broke.

  • Does this player automatically skip to the next track with the locate automatic function?

  • Hey! Sorry for taking so long to reply to this. No, it doesn't automatically skip to the next track. It isn't quite that advanced. It just hovers the tonearm above the record automatically. It was an attempt to "modernize" the turntable. I prefer to move the needle manually though. Because of how low-torque the motor is, using the locate buttons is a ridiculous time waster. It was a nice addition though, and it's a great turntable. =)

  • Lovely turntable.

  • no ipod can come close

  • What a GREAT turntable! I've had mine since 1996 and it still works, looks, and sounds great! The only question is where do find spare parts? Anyone have any ideas? I'd like to buy an extra headshell. This model has been out of production since around 2004 I believe. Anyway, if you fine one grab it, it's a great sounding table at a fair price.

  • that is so cool i also have the same turntable

  • @thenoti1

you need to remove the plate, then you 'll see three holes, vr2,vr3,vr4

you need to adjust the middle one using a very tiny flat head screwdriver.

  • We bought our DP-47 F when it was new on the Danish market so our young daughter could use our stereo and turntable without problems. She's 27 now and it worked perfectly for about 15 years (she never used it for parties).

It's a shame that almost all of the modern audiophile turntables look so cheap or bad with a dustcover on. Our DP-47F is still a beauty — unfortunately it's broken and I don't know if it can be fixed as the bearing seems to be worn.

  • Does anybody know how to setup the horisontal drop point of needle-stylus.When I press start the arm moves normaly but the needle drops about 3mm before record-it misses the record.I allready broke one stylus ...It's stoopid to use this turntable manualy with all those automatic stuff. The return function I cant use allso becouse it returns and miss the record.Pleeeeeeeaseeeee anybody heeeelp.

  • @spintheblackcircle4 You're welcome. I was using a Technics SL Q3 turntable for awhile(an awesome and sturdy turntable in it's own right )but your video inspired me to dust off my DP 47F and use it for my main everyday table...I've had friends and family members look at in amazement with it's cool red-laser auto size/speed detector sensor; My brother and I played Jane's Addiction "Ritual De Lo Habitual" the other day on it! If you can also get your hands on a DP 59L,well worth it! I have one.
