A research nuclear reactor may lead the way to the power plant of the future. Irradiation studies at the nuclear core predict a safer, greener and cheaper atomic energy by the middle of the century. The first stage in research of a new generation of nuclear power plants.

  • It takes a lot of coal to produce 1000 Megawatts like each of the two units at my workplace Sequoyah Nuclear Plant. Besides your environmentalists complain about "global warming" well, coal is a big contributor to that. Not to mention coal is extremely expensive compared to nuclear power.

  • Nuke is cheaper. Each of the two units where I work at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant is good for 1187 Megawatts! That is worth a LOT of EXPENSIVE coal. Unless you want your power bill to quadruple (at the very least), then you may want to reconsider your ideas.

  • "My opinion is that carbon only stays in the enviroment for a very short time compared to nuclear waste, coal fired power stations are the lesser of the two evils."

Even if your opinion about carbon were accurate, coal is still worse because coal produces more radioactive pollution per Kwh than nuclear. It sounds crazy, but check it for yourself.

  • @JWFau you are right ... too bad people are so eager to follow like sheep . All the governments had to do was hit everyone in the pocketbook at the pump and and with their electric bills . now every country is gettting dozens of power plants. It's all about money, nothing else.other technology is either here already or almost here but not as profitable because there will be lots of $ in getting rid of waste

  • New nuclear plants are quite expensive to build and operate.

  • Nice Nice Video. I really loved your video. Youtube can be a great asset for you. If you need any help getting your video exposed, check out this site called tubeviews [dot net] It has really done wonders for me, I have built 3 Channels up with videos at top in position and this is my forth channel i'm going to working on.

    Very Lovely!

  • i agree with what ur saying

  • Look, you enviromentalists have been telling governments to stop using coal etc, so they are turning to nuclear power. My opinion is that carbon only stays in the enviroment for a very short time compared to nuclear waste, coal fired power stations are the lesser of the two evils. Lets wait a little longer for new and better power production to come about before just trying to close down coal power plants so quickly. We can wait 50 or so years, you hear me? Lets wait for new tech, dont rush
