I've got one of these. "The clockwork orange" one of my wittier girlfriends called it. I found it at a rubbish dump almost complete and it's still on its first tank of fuel!
I was unaware until recently that the engine came off for stowage when the machine was folded up. Could you run me through the procedure for removing the motor - a video would be great.

I've one too,first hand since 1974 too but i must find the soubitez front light (in real plastic chrom !).;)
I can't realize what i'm seeing,a plisolex in usa,amazing !congratulations!

This one is 49 cc and has 0.8 hp, and a top speed of 20 mph or so. They're not for everybody, but sure are fun to ride. They are not designed to be fast. They are designed to be simple, easy-to-maintain, and economical, and they are. These get 200 mpg. I have many customers in NYC who use these 35 year old machines for daily transportation. This particular Solex is very rare, only about 4,000 made. The engine can be removed in 30 seconds, and the frame folded up to fit in the trunk of a car.
