We're saying the same thing. (And I did read the original study, thank you.). Of all tibia fractures studied, 14% involved sliding accidents. Of that 14%, as you noted, all were due to lap sitting.

But saying that this issue isn't worth pursuing? We have here a simple, no-cost way to reduce injuries. The information is now out there. Parents may decide for themselves. Frankly,I'm not hopeful. After all, we still don't bother to buckle seat belts or use basic safety gear.

I apologize; I was unclear with my point, and sounded much more strident then I intended.

To restate my point, I don't think that this is an issue worth trying to pursue, it is so uncommon and such a slight injury. I suspect that on the list of playground dangers, the net benefit of sliding down the slide with your child might outweigh the drawbacks; this study doesn't attempt to quantify any of the relevant metrics needed to know whether it is worth trying to prevent.

"at any cost"...what video were you watching? You sound like there's a call to ban all slides and all sneakers everywhere based on one study. OH MY! The only point to this video is that parents might want to think twice about holding their toddler on their lap while sliding.
