Nice Duet, would be nice to hear Luke sing a verse instead of just the chorus though..

  • lol:) thanks for your kind words and good luck finding the album! But please note that this is the only song to feature Luke, all the rest is Liam Clancy, so only search if you like his music too.

  • Ard.... how do you do it? Where did you find this one?

Most grateful for any information you can impart.

Many thanks - as always!! :o)

  • Thanks, it took me a while to find this. It's one Liam Clancy's album:

Liam Clancy - Yes, Those Were The Days / The Essential Liam Clancy.

  • @leonprof100 i'm from italy, and i totally agree with you

  • i am from serbia.heard a number of performances of this song and while i can't express the Irish emotion i can certainly feel it and i think Luke expresses the most emotions while singing this song and therefore is the best performer of Rocky road to Dublin in my opinion.cheers to all Irish folks from serbia.

  • somehow, you guys gotta persuade Pepper Keenan to sing at least one traditional song in a Dublin pub!

  • @tony10396861 Just fan of all three and i was very lucky to see them at their best. maybe they are up above Singing this song .well that's if ye believe in the 'up above'.you may be right, as no one would have bothered Uploading same to get the Singers Wrong Check out 'The Rocky Road to Dublin.. the Film up on Youtube or maybe buy a copy of this DVD on Amazon..Shows how Folk Music Liberates That Generation,It also shows up the 'Class' drive Hypocisy of those times of the Sixties.......

  • @malachy1847 Haha where do you hear the Keady accent?? Pure Dublin

  • hi, do you have an approximate date of this recording??? xxxxxxxxxx

  • Is it just me or does Luke sound very odd here?? If it wasn't for the Dub accent I'd barely have recognised it as Luke at all. Maybe he was afraid he'd bury Liam if he sang at full volume?

  • @malachy1847 No, it's definitely Luke. Tommy Makem had a more pronounced vibrato in his voice and the chorus is sung more in Luke Kelly's style than Makem's. Beyond that it sounds more like Kelly than Makem, the CD that it's from clearly lists Luke Kelly as the second singer.

  • two genius together what can you say brilliant

  • BEAUTIFUL MUSIC. REST IN PEACE GENTLEMEN. THEY WILL BE MISSED ALWAYS.
