Thanks for the tips! I just recently started suffering from this within the past couple months. So embarrassing and I have to give a presentation this week! Did you ever get an itchy scalp coinciding with the dermatitis? I found I did and have been applying Selsun blue shampoo onto my face...I know it sounds bizarre but it works fairly well! I'm going to the doctor this week...so if he says anything good I'll let you know!

I would imagine most over the counter antifungals would work, but some natural ones shown to be effective against Malassezia yeast is tea tree oil, honey, and cinnamic acid (although the cinnamic acid will probably burn like hell).

Corticosteroids have been shown to be effective for seborrheic derm. and along with the sarna acting as an anesthetic probably even more so, but recent studies show that the underlying cause is a yeast Malassezia spp. This is normally found in skin, but in some people it grows out of control and/or there is a bad reaction to it. In medical studies .treatment with antifungals have been shown to have a greater improvement with longer lasting results vs. corticosteroids.

I had the Cortaid cream before I bought the Sarna, so I have been using that. I know some people are leery about using steroid creams. I came across an all natural product that is an alternative to steroid creams last night at a grocery store grand opening in my neighborhood. It is nearly $10. I will do some research on the product and will let you know if I think it something you may want to try. To avoid having anymore creams lying around, I am going to finish using the Cortaid first.

thanks for the info and btw, I tried your method on the 13th and on the 14th my face already looked better! Did you come up with this combo by yourself or intructed by someone?

My friend recommended the Sarna, but I added a hint of cortisone cream. I know that you are not suppose to use too much cortisone cream, so I just decided to mix the two together and it worked so well I had to post the vid. I am still super excited about the "natural" product that I came across at the grocery store. I can't wait to try it and see if it works. If it does, it will be so helpful for even more people. So far, the reviews look good, so I will post the name of it soon. :)

hi again, i've been using the mixture for a few days, did you notice any area of your face becoming more sensitive during the first week? the sarna sensitive that i purchased has pramoxine hydrochloride as the main active ingredient. The kind you use (original) has camphor and menthol as the main active ingredients. In fact, yours doesn't even use pramoxine hydrochloride in it. Do you think i should continue with the kind im using, or start using the original that you tried? Thank you =)
