  • Damn it! Never heard such funky Bagpipe jazz. You may not like it but she is a really fine musician.

  • @dontevenstartme; limitations of the instrument. The pipes have nine notes. No dynamics, accents, embouchure, or rests. The drones greatly limit the chord structure of the tune. Music written for the pipes takes advantage of a highly idiomatic system or ornamentation and agogic stress to imply musicality within these severe limitations. Music adapted from other genres doesn't. It is also true that most pipe bands are made up of bare amateurs, and thus need simple rhythms to play in unison.

  • @junthepiper no. no she didnt do that.

  • @Robobagpiper Thats like saying if you're going to critise how a flautist plays, choose a flute concerto. Or are pipers like brass bands, unable to play any other music effectively?

  • I play quite a bit of The Krall on my swing radio show.

  • This lady swings. She plays with soul. Yes she is not a technician. BUT, she is the only pipe player that I have ever heard has transformed this traditional instrument into an enjoyable sound.. I have played as a musician for 40+ years and would enjoy working with her any day of the week. Also, check out Diana Krall, my namesake (I love being here with you) live from Paris. I know that you will understan. Thanks Bill Krall

  • If you're going to criticize how Highland pipers play a tune, it should at least be a Highland pipe tune, which Amazing Grace is NOT. Try Flowers of the Forest. Or any set of reels. Or a good piobaireachd.

  • yes..she is good..but she's excellent..this entire family is like the Trapp Family...X times over..WHAT TALENT

  • really.. She is good.

  • shes so great player! that she transform the bagpipe into a saxophone
