The true origins of the Orochi fighter known as Shermie are shrouded in mystery. She, along with Yashiro Nanakase and Chris formed a music band called "CYS" (based on the first letter of the name of each member), where Shermie played the keyboards. They enter the KOF tournament due to Yashiro's grudge against rival band player, Iori Yagami. Though originally not qualified for the tournament due to deciding to enter after the preliminaries were over, they succeeded in getting in by individually assaulting and defeating each member of the Sports Team. Shermie assaulted Lucky Glauber and took his invitation to the tournament as Yashiro and Chris did from his teammates. When she remembers her duties as one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Orochi, she uses the tournament to gather enough power to awaken Orochi, which is successful in Orochi's possession of Chris. The New Face Team ending in KOF '97 has Yashiro killing off both Shermie and Chris before committing suicide. It is believed that this ending, along with the fact that Yashiro and Shermie are willing to give their lives for the resurrection of the Orochi, reinforces the fact that the New Face Team most likely perished in this tournament.
Remy is a handsome man with long hair, a slender appearance and a mysterious darkness inside him. When he was a child, his martial artist father abandoned him. This was the catalyst for his intense hatred. His rage extended beyond just his own father and he soon learned to hate all martial artists. The only thing he truly loved was his older sister. When she died unexpectedly, her body was preserved in a frozen state at the bottom of the sea. This drove the young fighter insane. Even though his father never returns, Remy comes to terms with the past and lets his sister's frozen body sink into the sea, preparing to move on to a new life. Remy's fighting style uses a lot of kicks and movements that cleanly sweep his foes off their feet. Skillful legwork is his highest priority, as can be seen in his Blue Nocturne technique. Remy also uses chi-energy manipulation to deal out damage, and is careful not to reveal any weak points to his opponents.
Sean Matsuda was a boy from a perfectly normal Brazilian family. He was passionate about sports and played basketball in university. Growing up under the watchful eye of his Japanese descended grandfather, the old man made sure Sean matured into a polite and kind young man. Watching a local martial arts tournament, Sean was so impressed with Ken's fighting style that he decided to ask Ken Masters to train him. From then on, he began studying under Ken and he pushed himself hard to understand the ways of a street fighter.
Blanka's first appearance in the Street Fighter series was in Street Fighter II. He was originally going to look more like a caveman, and there are rumors that the design for King Rasta Mon (from the Slam Masters games) was one of the early Blanka character models.
In his Street Fighter II ending, he reunites with his mother Samantha, who recognizes him from the anklets he wears. She reveals that Blanka was once known as Jimmy, before he was in a plane crash as a little boy. This crash caused him to grow up in the wild, although he has connections to a local village. Ever since the crash, Blanka/Jimmy had been separated from his mother.

Kick ass match! I felt like Shermie was just...there. She didn't do much compared to Remy, who was doing all the work XD
BTW, who's Blanka is that? I didn't know there was one with new super moves.
