Sri Lanka's killing fields expose war crimes. The Human Rights Council in Geneva convened Friday 03 June 2011 to view a special hour long Channel 4 TV UK film featuring video evidence of atrocities by both sides at the end of the Sri Lanka civil war. Footage first aired on this programme has already prompted one UN Special envoy to conclude that there is evidence of "serious international crimes". Such crimes are continued to be funded by the world's "largest secular democracies" (India and the USA) in Sri Lanka, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Serbia and elsewhere around the world. They fund both sides. Disturbing footage in the film includes the apparent extra-judicial massacre of prisoners by government forces, the aftermath of targeted shelling of civilian hospitals and the bodies of female Tamil fighters who appear to have been sexually assaulted. Also examined in the film are atrocities carried out by the Tamil Tigers, including the use of human shields, and footage depicting the aftermath of a suicide bombing in a government centre for the displaced. The Sri Lankan government has rejected the footage as falsified. In report commissioned by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon concluded that up to 40,000 civilians may have died in the final push by the government to defeat the Tamil Tigers. The UN report found credible evidence that both sides of the conflict committed serious war crimes. The report called for an international inquiry - that call has so far has gone unheard. The Secretary-General said he lacked the authority to personally order an investigation into the mass killings. UN officials concede that Colombo would never consent to such an investigation of its conduct in the conflict. No mass media TV outfit in America and Europe has enough courage and guts to screen their killing fields in Iraq, Afganisthan, Iraq Pakistan and Libya. look dude, LTTE started as tamil people's force. no doubt in that. LTTE was seen as freedom fighters in 1983. but later, specially towards the end of war, LTTE become more brutal n kil civilains.

btw, u have any idea how many LTTE members were arrested reguarding all these bomb blast? ofcourse alot of innocent tamils were arrested too. truth is truth

@MrLankanlion soon after the bombing in colombo,gosl blamed it on LTTE,no investigations were done,there was no evidence to link LTTE directly to these bombings,LTTE was blamed cos that was the easy thing to do..Given the bogus lies GOSL say their credibility is zero..

And LTTE wanted an international recognition for their cause,many republicans,democrats,even Obama and Hillary have stated LTTE not necessarily as "terrorist",all these bombings coincided with the above incidents.
