Lets see a Nader/Barr debate!
I wonder if, as Reagan did in 1980 when, immediately after 'taking' office, he Removed the solar panels from the White House roof installed under Carter, will Ralph Nader make it his first act- to unplug the surveillance monitors and drain the water-torture pools in Cheney's secret masturbatorium under the White House?

Inviting the corporate candidates is exactly what you DO want to do, as it would bring the mindless sheeple to witness a REAL debate. Of course, the corporate whores would be destroyed in a real debate, but this is what anyone who supports the people's candidates already knows. Sure, you could win some more people by having the debates without the corporate candidates, but if you debate with them, you could potentially win the support of the country, as millions defect from Obama/Mccain.

The harsh reality is that McSame and 'Bama wouldn't set foot in an open debate. Period. Hence, saying that you'll exclude them from a possible "independent" debate is not only ironic but a nice twist.
Rather than begging to the deaf ears of the two paid-for candidates, ignore Them for a change. ***** Open the Debates! ***** Get Nader on TV, Damnit!

I doubt they(Mc &obama) would participate in an open debate as well, but inviting them to come is a win-win situation as I see it. Either they do join an open debate, bringing many of their supporters, who would see their candidates destroyed, or, they don't join the debates, but in doing so might raise questions among their supporters as to why exactly they won't join an open debate, assuming non-corporate candidate supporters really push the point of Mc & Oby declining to join.

Of course the old song and dance of "Plausible deniability" kicks in as soon as the offer goes out..
Only one of the Corp-Candidates has to say, last minute, "Oh, I have a schedule conflict" or a visit to the victims in Georgia or to judge a flyswatting contest in the ozarks and the other corp-candidate bows out, too, then they can say "they tried", but aw shucks it just didn't work.
Skeptical, I know, but that's haow they've done it every time..

Pretty respectful, except for that "Dueling Banjos" theme... Fun to watch either way.

The tune is "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" by Flatt and Scruggs (1949), arguably the most famous Banjo number ever recorded. Of course many non-banjo enthusiasts recall the the theme song from Deliverance as the most familiar banjo chords, but that's a different number altogether.
