@mamfouryou Dyke is the baddest man out of Buffalo, and I love Rick to death, but this brotha would have blown up real real big if he wasn't killed before people realize what they were dealing with, this guy was a genius and Funky as hell
I grew up across the street from Dyke's family in Buffalo......I always knew when he came home because you could hear the band for miles...and there was always a crowd in front of his mother's house dancing in the street......
THIS FESTIVE 'B' SIDE OF "LET A WOMAN BE A WOMAN..." ALSO CHARTED IN 1969. SEE ALSO FOR YOUR EDIFICATION & LISTENING PLEASURE THE 1972 NEW BIRTH JAM "THE UNH SONG" & ANYTHING BY JAMES BROWN OR WILSON PICKETT.. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS CLASSIC JAM - DAVEDJ
*laughing*.....You know it's music like this that makes me cherish my elementary school days. I was in the second grade and me and my peers used to go crazy over this song! thanks for posting!!
Dyke and the Blazers were the back up band for the O Jays. Dyke is noted as the first artist to fully capture and commercilize the James Brown Sound. He was on his way to the top. Unfortunately, he was shot in the head and killed at a Chitlin Curcuit night club.
