I'm a truckers grand daughter, trucker's daughter AND a truckers wife.. I'm very proud of my trucking roots. The life alone sucks. You have to understand it to marry into it.. Hard on everyone, espically the kids.. When i was a kid i loved going with my dad, my bed was the doghouse of a cabover Pete. My boy has the same sparkle in his eyes when he looks at a truck as i did as a little girl. Truckers ARE the backbone of our country, If ya got it, thank the trucker who brought it!!

I think EVERY American needs to see this video. Most of the general public has no idea the sacrifices that delivery drivers make so we can have our ipods, computers, food, and toilet paper. These drivers are away from home, some of them 6-8 weeks at a time so we can have a good life. Truckers are TRUE AMERICAN HEROS!

Amen to that! Reminds me of Anne Murray, very pure and warm.

Did that opening bit of dialog win any awards in 1988, maybe "most convincing script" or "best acting" (tossup between Kathy and Charlie)? Jokes aside, I do like the song now, though I used to mock it when I was a kid. Lots of truck drivers in my family, some great sentiments in the song.

Kris, when was the last time you actually "put your life on the line?" NEVER?? Lets hear about what a hero you are, is it in the newspapers, who did you save? I live in Indianapolis and even the full time firefighters here don't seem to be as brave as you. How much of your own money did you spend mounting those stupid flashing blue lights to your car that nobody pays any attention to anyway?

    Your an idiot

    Jim

HEY TRAGIT I AM A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER AND A TRUCKDRIVER !!!!! Before you start putting me down how about growing balls and become a volunteer and put your life on the line for a total stranger in all kinds of weather all times of the day . Going into work on little if any sleep . I've left my family on Christmas to fight house fires and missed meals and special occasions and I DO NOT HAVE A GYM AT MY STATION !!!!!!

My thanks to all truckers especially OTR. All the big city pensioners, Police and Firefighters work about 1/20 th as hard. And they get untold breaks, pad their pensions with inflated overtime, enjoy the best of benefits including having gyms at their stations.

Truckers haul huge loads, are pressed for scheduled delivery under extreme traffic/weather conditions, eat when & whatever is available often at irregular times, and pay high fuel & maintenance cost. You are our real lifeline. Thanks

I am so glad that I was a tween during the new traditionalist movement back in the'80's . I know what real country sounds like . Songs like this aren't heard today . The powers that be are beholden to the bottom line. Basically, it would not sell . That is really sad . Real country stands the test of time.
