  • There's e a whole set of techniques for diagonal and horizontal strikes.

  • This guy has no respect for the blade edge of the sword. He keeps grabbing the bokken, wrapping his fingers around the blade edge, and pulling. Bad form!

  • The Japanese sword is only sharp on one edge/ The sword-taking technique only grabs the back of the blade.

  • But otherwise, if (a big IF) you did manage to somehow just step aside, those things should work quite well. Just remember to wear thick gloves if grabbing the edge.

  • I'd like to see someone actually hit him. Those guys actually _wait_ for him to move aside before committing to the attack. That's not how you kill someone with a sword...

  • @Matamune87 I see what you did there ;)

  • @MRubenzahl Try grabbing something without wrapping your fingers around it...

  • Woaaaaahhhhh! Extremely lethal techniques!!! Aikido makes you invincible and people who say "MMA fighers are strong" are only pathetic. This master would destroy every MMA fighter without sweat.

  • @darnit006 No. This shit isn't neither entertaining...

  • @xiaofuqi no he isnt u must be blind or not fast enough to see it i see him clearly grabbing 1 edge

  • I'd love to see anyone grab a hold of a Shinken like this......

  • it`s sick! i hate all TMA demos. movement is done in slow motion or half speed. why they don`t act in high or real speed? doesn`t work? of cause not!

  • The basic techniques shown are not to bad. However for real examinations it is recommended to make better sabaki (his evasion is not good) and biggest mistake as lots of people have pointed out: he grabs the wooden sword like a stick. You don't grab the blade, period. OTOH: it is a seminar, you see students sitting in the front, ofc it is "demonstrated" slowly ... sigh. Then again, but why do people that seem to have no ma experience at all even commend on Aikido?
