  • Here's a link to the REAL NEW Commodore Amiga, not some "AmigaOne" wannabe from a company you've never heard of:

What a load of bull, they are not real amigas, they don't even run an Amiga Operating system.

  • The X1000 is just a hoax. It was supposed to have been released back in Summer. After VCF they started showing a printed paper picture of the X1000 motherboard mounted in a case at shows. Then A-eon came up with a beta pre-sale program and announced that would begin in November. November came and no beta boards but A-eon started taking money. Now it's the end of November and the beta people have heard no word from A-eon. Starting to look very, very scammy!

  • @jsuttonus

You are spreading FUD, all the successful Beta Testers are being informed this week of their acceptance into the A1-X1000 Beta Test programme. so things are happening. Of course not as fast as we would like, but I'd rather we get it right this time and not have to make track alterations and add resistors and missing codec chips to the board like we had to do with the Eyetech A1-XE. At least A-EON are trying to learn from past mistakes.

  • WWhat is he talking about the XBox chip? Will this run XBox games?

  • @Barry3443

    XMOS not XBOX :-)

He's refering to the co-processor from A-Eon's website:

    Xena 500MHz XMOS XS1-L1 128 SDS

  • @jsuttonus WRONG. It's out (the "first contact")

Hyperion is a link to real NEW AmigaOS not some "Commodore USA" wannabe from a company you have never heard of!

  • Any group of people that puts this time and money into relaunching a hardware and software platform in this market gets my kudo's any day. I loved the Amiga then, and I will still love it now. Not for what it could do, but for what it stood for. Innovation..

  • Fuck apple. Love amiga.

  • seeing as amiga was a good gaming machine wouldn't it be an idea to sell it as a machine that is good for gaming. i love playing poker on line and will be buying a new computer soon. i loved my amiga when i had one. i need a computer that can handle pkr poker graphics obviously that is easily available on the market already but i would rather buy from a company i would like to support. maybe amiga could get backing from pkr poker? because their ethos is about game play and user enjoyment

  • Just for the Amiga experience on a new computer.

Or to get in early in case it ships, does well, gets cheaper/better, and goes mainstream. You can be in the same place as the folks who started companies with an A1000 and were there when the 2000 and 500 came out. But, opening at "north of £1500" in a market where people are used to $350 netbooks...that's a lot of ifs.

    I'm counting my ducats...we'll see.
