r: WHAT?! are you insane?! You love Joe! Where is this coming from? Whats going on?
c: *sighs* Ive been thinking. Overall, this isnt going to work.
r: court, why do you say that? You and Joe have been going strong despite everything thats happened.
c: its not me and Joe. Its not you or nick or Kevin.
r: you mean......
c: *looks at becca with tears* its Natalie.
r: what about nat?
c: dont pretend like you dont see it Rebecca. Natalie hates me.
r: no. she doesnt. she loves you.
c: no she doesnt. she just doesnt.
r: Courtney, pls, think thoroughly, nats always been happy that you and Joe have been together. Heck, shes the one who set you guys up in the first place.
c: yea. she wanted Joe to be happy. She wanted HIM to have gf. she wanted HIM to have love. she wanted HIM to love me.
r: if she didnt love you she wouldnt have wanted Joe to.
c: shes ok with me. I helped her out, I make Joe happy, so shes cool. But its more than just smiling at me, or saying hello. its way more than that.
r: what do you mean?
c: face it becca, nat does not love me the way I want her to. the way I wish her to. she puts a barrier and stops me at the pt of just being her dads gf.
r: no. I bet its nth like that.
c: she goes through sth like her first period, and she calls you. not me. Me, her DADs gf. close enough to her mother-like figure. But she calls her uncles ex. Im not meaning to disrespect you becca, I love you. youre my sister. Im not jealous that youre close to her. Im just heartbroken that shes not as close to me.
r: Courtney, c'mon, she was scared. She just needed someone thr. Its probably just a coincidence that she called me.
c: no. you know and I know it wasnt. we know Natalie. The only female figures she has in her life, is you and me. And she, turned to you.
r: you cant take this to heart. there may be a million reasons why she called me and not you.
c: theres only one and its because she wanted to.

c: rmb how you came home that day and were really happy and told me how she said she loved you.

c: I dont know if you realised, she has never, not even once, said that to me.
r: she just, she.....she needs time to warm up to you.
c: shes known us an equal amt of time. me more than you. yet shes closer to you than me. Thats saying sth becca. And Ive understood what it all means.
r: and whats that? Throwing away the one guy you love entirely?
c: no. giving in to the one girl I love entirely.
r: if you break up with Joe, hes never gonna be happy again. he lost a wife once alr, you know how fragile he is! And hows nat gonna take it? shes always gonna be heartbroken looking at her dad like that.
c: hell get over me, and, theyll be happy again. me being thr will make things worse.
r: how the bloody hell will it make things worse?!
c: sooner or later Joes wanna get married! Either that or we break up eventually. And were back to square one.
r: thats great. You guys will get married and be a family.
c: Rebecca, you are not getting it! if Joe and I get married, the person who will get affected the most is Natalie! She alr is not letting me in and by forcing her to accept me as a step-mother, it just wont work! Shell never be able to let me in on her own terms.
r: ok! fine then, great, give her time and let her like you on her own terms.
c: I cant do it becca. I just cant. I cant love Joe more and more everyday, wondering, hoping if his daughter loves me back. And if one day, it just never happens and Im force to go then, my heart wouldnt be able to take it.
r: Joe will talk to her!
c: and say what? I love Courtney so you better love her as a mom? I cant do that to Joe either. He loves Natalie. More than ath in the world. How can you expect me to let him mend the damaged relationship btw his daughter and me? How unfair and cruel would that be him? how would he be able to handle being in the middle of the 2 girls he loves? How Rebecca? How can he do that? And how do you expect me to do it to him?! *breaks down crying*
r: *slowly takes it all in & hugs her* sis, pls, listen to me. Nats just a child. She needs time for getting used to. Im sure shell let you in when the time is right. I know you love Joe and nat, and for that, you have to be patient. pls, dont make this hasty move. please
c: *gets back to her normal breathing & wipes her face* *stands up* you go & tell me how it was. Tell nat happy birthday for me.

c: Im gonna talk to Joe tmr. Let him be happy today. with his family. *walking away*
r: *grabs her arm* you are a part of that family.
c: *shifts her arm* no. Im not. *looks at rebecca* dont tell anyone ath. Ill see you later. *runs upstairs & locks herself in her room*
r: *sinks into the couch & sighs* why do we both have to hurt 2 of the most amazing guys alive?
