Chris Buckley - Danny (Superstar)

I had been working on some new songs, when I started playing this, written in France as a student, and one that lived on a cassette tape waiting for its moment. The recent X-Factor run seemed to inspire me to revisit it. I changed a few words and added a new bit, and began working on this home-made concoction. It tells the story of Danny, a would-be superstar who finds fame and fortune through a Talent Show and gets sucked into the machine...

A solo project, it came together quite quickly once I'd got into the recording process: drums, bass, 2 rhythm guitars, lead guitar, some keyboard and vocals.

For speed, it's a simple two-shot video, with some instrument cutaways (partly to hide the occasional blurring from the auto-focus on the head shots as I moved to the beat). For the sake of continuity I've left it as it is. It adds to the charm!

Apologies to Danny for killing him off -- or did I?
