The Ohio University Marching 110 entertains at the OSU Skull session again. This time around, they were limited to just 3 songs. Too bad. See my earlier posts from 2008 for more. Please feel free to comment but not about which band is better. Both bands are awesome. One is the best in the land (at what they do) and the other is the most exciting.

  • @americansmark its about time someone else feels the same way.

  • I like how you OSU'ers are equally balanced individuals. You have a chip on both shoulders.

  • Well, let's see, according to the history of bands to receive that trophy, you can keep it. For all of you who aren't familiar with it, google the past recipients and look at the bands to receive it. I mean come on OSU...I got a gold star in preschool for coloring within in the lines, but you don't see me calling myself "the best damn crayon user in the land".

  • Isn't it great that Michigan received the trophy before OSU lol

  • @DCHStrumpet Is that how you justify it? Ah, well, whatever you need to tell yourself. I also see that most of the recipients are from schools in big conferences. Little ol' MAC doesnt get much attention, as usual. I'm not worried, eventually they will run out of big name schools and start going to the smaller conferences, and the 110 will get one too, just like everyone else. Until then, the 110 will still have their fans, and OSU will still have football fans that see the band every so often.

  • @ChemistryWins I would also like to point out that the first two recipients of the award were voted on by sports journalists. The next year, 1984, Ohio State won the trophy when it was decided on by the votes of college marching band directors. So yes, Michigan and Illinois won the trophy the first two years, but the first legitimate award went to OSU... but you already knew that, didn't you?

  • @buckeyes8114 Since you place so much stock in the Sudler Trophy, I would like to point out that Michigan won it before OSU...but you already knew that, didnt you?

  • ok, OU110 and OSUMB have two different styles of marching. To say one is better than the other, is like saying Beethoven is better than Blink182. You just can't, it's two different styles.

IMO, OSUMB just has a hype because their fball team is awesome.

You know when a band is good, when most of the crowd comes to the games for the band, I would know, I go to school there.

  • @buckeyes8114 ok wow you got. OSU won it in 1982 good job

  • @lunchbag08 Ever heard of the Sudler Trophy? Voted on by College Band directors. Idk where OU has been voted as best band besides some sports journalist's blog. lol. nice try.
