i have this on vhs and it was indeed from xmas 1980 they played baggy trousers 3 times that year and this original recording was from 29th december 1980 !

@fergusil. I have to agree with you, this was for sure a 1980 hit and not 81. Obviously its fake snow on them, so makes me think a Xmas top of the pops or even a special show for new year 1981

@TheRoute19 no! ive looked it up since and im right! this must have been greatest hits of 1980 totp special. it certainly wasnt in the charts at the specific time in question--1st jan 1981.

are you sure this is 1981? the single was released in sept1980 and in xmas 1980 [when i was 9yrs old] i got a k-tel various artists album called"chart explosion"with this on it.
