I remember thinking, back before I had heard the story of Balaam, that Biblical literalists were just a bit awkward. Sure, I can understand not accepting radiometric dating, or Big Bang cosmology, and the such. If my public education had been any worse, I'd probably be there with them.
Then I came across this story. That ambivalence went out the window. A talking donkey. These people don't dislike D&D because it's "Satanic"; it's a rival for their believers minds!

I'm one of those people who believes that this really happened, and if i can believe that God made the entire universe then making a donkey talk is no problem.
