@busessuck1 This is not John Lee Hooker. This is a live recording from the louisiana state penitentiary. A lot of the old blues players/musicians borrowed songs and guitar licks from each other. Alot of the music sounded similar, but the realy great players added there own personal style to it. It was done back then, as it is done, in music, today.

i honestly don't really think the playing on this is really close to john lee hooker's.. i'd have to say it sounds like late blind willie mctell playing with curly weavers voice. look up anything from his 1949 sessions

No, that isn't John Lee Hooker. It is his style, although it could equally be argued this is the style of the music he adopted. The voice doesn't have the depth of John Lee's, and that isn't saying the guy singing here isn't good because I think he is excellent.
