A Gorillapod is not a small group of wandering primates; rather, it is a flexible camera tripod that consists of dozens of articulating ball-and-socket joints that allow you to secure your camera to almost any object.

The Gorillapod tripod is perfect for the shutterbug on the go. It's small size means you can toss it in your pocket or backpack. The Gorillapod provides all the benefits of a traditional tripod: namely, steadying a camera in low light situations such as parties or restaurants or taking timed group photos. But, the Gorillapod can do a lot more than your average tripod. You can wrap its legs around a branch, pole, or the back of a chair. Any place you can imagine, you can set up the Gorillapod.

  • could you put a Iphone on it

  • @pokemonvsdigimonful Not easily as an iPhone doesn't have a universal camera mount.

  • I own the LX5 which weighs about 271g with battery according to the internet. The smaller tripod can withstand 275g max but I'm not sure if I'm taking a huge risk here getting it. Would it be safe enough cause I don't want to ruin my camera of course. Or should I just get the bigger version but twice the size (10 inches) which may be difficult to fit in smaller ladies bag?

  • @CeliaYuLing My guess is that the manufacturer is fairly lenient with the tolerances meaning that it can withstand more than 275g, but they're being on the super-safe side. Similar to an elevator, I doubt that the cables will break if you exceed the weight tolerance slightly.

  • @123456789GreenTea I don't think so because the iPod does not have a universal camera mount.
