Delia is a very good friend of mine. When she retired, music lost a great voice and a great lady.

Once again, the lady below is right on! (She's my sister) Never could listen to this without squalling like a baby, and still do! It's my favorite!!!

I grew up listening to Delia Bell and her sisters, one of whom is my Aunt Georgie, and my Uncle John on fiddle, all playing and singing when our family would get together. It puts a lump in my throat to hear her sing with EmmyLou, how pure and beautiful their voices. She also recorded an album with John Anderson. These folks are absolute American treasures.

This is the way this song is supposed to be sung...Hauntingly innocent...

The beauty of their singing this song gives me goosebumps - That is what music shoud do!

I want to correct my spelling of Delia's name in my previous post. She has a very nice voice and has hopefully other music available. Thanks again. - Paula

This has to be one of greatest songs ever written. What a classic. It's wonderful whether it's sung or just done as an instrumental. Thank you Loretta for this link. I love Della's singing - and Emmylou's too of course. The band is terrific. I have put this one on my Favorites, too. Thanks ernst for posting this. - Paula
I love this song, and the two sing it beautifully.
Hugs from Canada :)
