Lonely Planet Travel writer John Vlahides has come to Sakalava Bay on the north coast of Madagascar. The warm weather and high winds has made this coastline a favourite for the international Kite surfing community.

  • I had the chance to learn how to kite in Sakalava bay....fantastic place, great people, loved it...

  • It looks that he didnt give him any advice, he could get on much faster if given good advice = I kitesurfe , so I know... just yeah yeah doesnt help...

Otherwise, condition looks great, would be on the wather in the sec.

  • @tooumas on high winds you can't really surf if you are under 60kg even with a small kite but i'd say 70kg would be perfect. I'm around 62 myself and I can ride in almost any weather as long as I got the appropriate kite. Biggest one i got is 18 squares and with that i can ride with almost no wind.

  • looks so easy

  • cool viedeo and cool your glasses dud, what they call?

  • Gay as aids!!!

  • im confused... is this community channel or not??

  • @uberbigbread ohhh u have no idea

  • Guy seems so relaxed and nice

  • I have been kitesurfing to sakalava bay last summer and enjoyed 4 metres waves on the reef with 30knots wind..........I am only 50 kg, but with my 5 m was almost ok....... some times I wish I was 60 kg but...........
