With Tea Partiers in power, this is unlikely to get better. Republicans are BIG supporters of electric power from coal. Coal ash is becoming a huge national problem. Look what happened in Tennessee two or three years ago when the coal ash "pond" ruptured. Green power is the only solution, but funding for that is so tiny.

I live less than 20 miles from Little Blue Run. Between that and my house is ANOTHER large fly ash pile (Beech Hollow). The pond outside of Beech Hollow has odd shiny glow some days.
