Considering Agassi played for about 10 more years after I'd say that this was his prime

@ruaridh2k7 true. agassi didn't recover for about 3 yrs. aa had dominated the hardcourts that year and woulda finished ranked 1 but lost this match. i think at the time of that match pete had 6 slams and andre 3. pete won 4 more before agassi resurged in 99

Agassi lost to becker at wimbledon that year , and becker said nasty things about him, so this was agassi's summer of revenge, he just wanted to beat Becker, he totaly beat him in the semi and used all his menthal and physical power to do so..he reached the final exaust..same thing happened in 2002 against hewitt, Pete's serve allowed him to not use much energy during his match, anyhow two great champions.

i had to mute this

'Angles Point'

@csblack10 yes ridiculous.
-
Shame this loss had a nasty toll on Andre's career.
-
this is the beginning of modern tennis.
-
agassi has the advantage of the point untill the 10th second (forehand but hes forwarding..)....from this and all the point hes defending.....

3 greatest matches ever. borg and mac 1980 wimbledon final. this one. and pete and andre us open quarterfinal 2001
tnx for posting this, i still remember this match, it was the most anticipated match in 95 at the height of sampras-agassi rivalry, i was the lone sampras supporter in my family, and i won 5 bucks of each of them

No man, even that one was 45 strokes rally, this one was 22 hard core strokes much more fierce,harder, faster and riskier rally. Much better.
