This is a short gameplay/promotional video of "X-Women: The Sinister Virus", a side-scrolling action game for the 16-Bit Sega Genesis that was slated to be released amongst the console's last batch of first-party software in late 1996. Unfortunately and inexplicably, the game, which was to have starred and be based around several female members of the "X-Men", was cancelled and never released. It is not known how far along the game was before it was cancelled or when it was cancelled exactly. All that's known is that it was possibly being developed by the long-defunct and short-lived "Clockwork Tortoise Inc.", which had previously developed the impressive "The Adventures of Batman & Robin" for both Genesis and the Sega CD.

this game was supposed to have Jean Grey, Storm, Rogue, Jubilee, Psylocke, Dazzler, and Shadowcat as playable characters... very lame that it was cancelled.
They won't. Both games were cancelled well over 10 years ago, and there's no interest whatsoever in finishing or releasing them. Nobody even knows if an incomplete version of "X-Women" exists out there.
omg the game looks so cool n dude they should not cancelled it... i would buy that game when i was kid :'( i would love to play as Storm, Rogue, and Jean :P they look hot in this game xD
I remember reading about this around '95 or '96 in some game magazine, and being excited about playing as Storm, Rogue, and Jean (all great characters); an interesting feminist type of game, what with the male X-heroes being debilitated by the Sinister virus...ah well, I would have bought it!
