Well...from what I wrote on a research paper in high school was, that apparantly in some of the websites i found, they said that the Dinosaurs were the dragons. in 1841 a guy named Sir Richard Owen or someone like that came up with the name dinosaurs, so dragons became dinosaurs. I do not claim to know it for sure i just found it on the internet.

If dragons really existed how come there are no dragon skeletons recovered? Paleontologists have found plenty of fossiles from long extinct animals and plants, but never from anything which would resemble a dragon.

Here's the main problem. For such a huge animal, the wings would have to be enormous and the muscles to flap these wings giant. It's impossible. The largest ever flying animals were ultraleight compared to their size and utilized strong winds to make them airborn.
