Made by The Commonwealth Film Unit 1966. Directed by John Abbott. In making this film about the Vietnam War, the Australian Commonwealth Film Unit did not look for battles and heroes. This was to be the story of the young Australians who were carrying on the standards of service begun by their grandfathers during the First World War. The emphasis was on people, both Australian and Vietnamese. The intention was to show what war really feels like.

i have watched this vidio and it bought tears to my eyes i am a Vietnam Veteran i was with 2 tpt pl,i was in country from August 1969 to September 1970 seeing this video bought back a lot of memeries that i had forgoten.

I've heard of the ANZAC, the Australia, New Zealand Army Corp, but I didn't know that they fought in Vietnam.

@FILMAUSTRALIA While I find it difficult to agree with our government for why we go to war, I have always, and will always honour our troops who are risking their lives for themselves and for their people.
