Robert Randloph and the Family Band were playing a gig at the Headliners Music Hall, Lousville Kentucky, May 12, 2011. On a number where Robert was playing a Telecaster (instead of his pedal steel) he asked whether there was a guitarist in the house. My wife pushed me toward the stage and got his attention and Robert invited me on stage. I was totally unprepared and in a state of shock, but...one of the world's great musicians playing RHYTHM GUITAR for ME? Thanks to David Birch for preserving a priceless memory for me.

  • I'm still a bit stunned about it. Robert Randolph played at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Festival and is one of the world's great musicians and he was playing rhythm guitar for me? I certainly did not expect that when we went to see a Robert Randolph & the Family Band (and Tunesmiths) concert.

  • That's what happens when you go to a Tunesmith's show!!!! Rock on, Tony.

  • I think you could actually give up your day job (after you become an empty nester). You look awfully comfortable up there. :)
