Intermittency is a phenomenon that plagues the electrical and electronics industry and accounts for the majority of 'No Fault Founds' (NFF) in most diagnostics activities carried out on electronic equipment. In particular, the aerospace industry has an enormous NFF problem which leads to detrimental effects on the logistics supply chain and overall operating cost, plus it leads to the frustration of operator/users/maintainers alike.

The effects of intermittency are random in nature and virtually impossible to detect with conventional test equipment. The impact of this major problem affects safety, performance and cost. Universal Synaptics Corp (USA) and Copernicus Technology Ltd (Europe), have the answer.... The Intermittent Fault Detector (IFD) as a unique solution in tracing intermittency.
