I had the great honor of meeting Mr. Feller at a sports collectors show several years ago. He signed a baseball for me. He noticed the "Navy Veteran" cap I was wearing, and he started sharing his Navy experiences with me, and asking about mine. He made me feel like HE was honored to meet ME! I could have spoken to him for two hours, and not talked about baseball at all. What a great,down-to-Earth guy. That baseball he signed is one of my most treasured possessions.
what a class act. I have never seen hm interviewed and what a generous man he seems..... in comment to losing 4 years of baseball during world war II he responds that the true heroes are those who did not return from the war .. and then he goes on to mention by name the only major league player to die during the war.... this was a decent man. RIP Bob Feller.
Cleveland's greatest pitcher interviewed by one of Cleveland's greatest all-time sportscasters. RIP Bob & Nev Chandler who was the voice of the Tribe for several years and voice of the Browns until his death in the early 90's.
how cool will it be to hang with bob and nev in heaven

God bless Rapid Robert Feller. My dad saw him pitch. One of the best ever, maybe the best.
