I'm posting from my dressing room at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley,CA. The club recently reopened in its new space, and it's one of the best sounding rooms of its kind in the country. The song choice may be a little obvious, but why not. It's a true story of the gold rush first printed in a Rhode Island periodical- I think the man's name was Brown Owen. Cordelia's Dad recorded it first in 1992 on the Joy Fun Garden CD on the German label Normal. We recorded it again for the CD Comet, which was on a cobbled together bunch of labels including Normal and Omnium. It was intended to be an all acoustic CD, but Normal wanted some rock songs. Both the European and US releases contain the song Jersey City but the European version also features the songs Hush and Three Snake Leaves, which were released in the US only as a 7" on Scenescof records. Fascinating, eh? Cordelia's Dad has long specialized in creating collectors' items- I imagine the collectors will be here any day now.

  • Niezwykły artysta !

  • @MrBaluba53 Dziekuje!

  • I'M the local. And YOU'RE the one who's been able to get that close to a pelican... jealous*

  • I didn't know it was unusual. I mean it was unusual for me because we don't have any pelicans in western MA that I'm aware of, but this one gave the impression that this is pretty much all he does all day. Maybe he'll be there tomorrow...

  • @batfancy saw about a six pelicans in a Wal-Mart parking lot here in Kentucky about a month ago.. crazy!

  • I'm your new Fan, Wholy Mole! You'll find this hard to believe, but I work on violins for a living. This morning some one came in asking me to convert their beautiful Classic violin into a fiddle and wanted the "E" super charged. So tonight I started to see the playing style on YouTube to see what I can do to make this man HAPPY.

BOY HOWDY, I learned everything there is to know just watching Tim Play. Sound post bridge strings the whole lot.. THanks!

  • Way to strut your stuff pelican!

I had always hoped to see a live version of this song done. I saw another video on YouTube with some old OLD film with this song dubbed over.

I've got to start traveling more often, Kentucky just isn't doing it for me any more.

  • It almost brings me to tears...

    So beautiful!

  • I just love the spirit that Tim invokes. The fiddle playing and singing is so right on where I live.

Please do, "keep 'em coming" Tim? it's very much appreciated.

'Not quite sure what the pelican makes of it though... ~:O)

  • Takes me back in time Batman. Fabulous performance.

    Guten Tag

    Jim
