SS American Victory cruise rifle demonstration

This demonstration was performed on the deck of the SS American Victory (A WWII Victory Ship) during a cruise in Tampa Bay, Florida, April 1, 2006. The participants are re-enactors dressed in period uniforms. Firearms demonstrated include the M1903 Springfield, M1 Garand, M50 Reising, M3 Grease Gun, M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR), M1919 Browning Machine Gun, M14 Rifle, and M16 Rifle. I've been on previous cruises and these reenactors really add much to the program!

The American Victory is sailing again on Sat. Nov.8 for her Salute to Veterans cruise --there aer som many interesting things to do during the cruise.

correction...they jam WAY worse...ESPECIALLY the M16 blanks because many of the reenactors use the cinema HOT blanks, as opposed to the GI blanks. Cinema blanks are WAAAAAY louder than even live rounds going off...because they are packed with way more powder, meaning the weapon heats up quicker, and, more importantly, the weapon gets that much more carbon that much quicker...meaning it gums up quicker.

May I remind you that there were crowd control people all over the place keeping everyone far away from us, and the angle of the camera really does an injustice to the muzzle awareness.

A BFA that screws into a flash suppressor are the big goofy square ones that are yellow or red, used by us now...the more "aftermarket" stuff screws directly into the barrel, having nothing to do with the flash suppressor.
