yeah man i think your right...i've never heard of ecstacy being used in the 80's....just think though druggers are always thinking...have you ever heard about or watch the dvd cocaine cowboys?
PM Dawn was the beginning of the ecstasy era. These guys were the first to introduce that ecstasy style to R&B. That's why KRS One didn't condone in that stuff and had a lil beef with them and had to sock one of them I think. It wasn't a good influence but the music and what they did was great.
A Complete Meld of Rap & SINGING UNLIKE ANY OTHER.plus they kept it their own and real. Todays copycat Groups could learn and use that format...but they won't and they will be like everyone else. like so many in the Oh Ohhs .
Confident, engaging and most of all, DEEP lyrics (thought-provoking) collide with lush harmonies and ethereal backing tracks to create a new genre: progressive hip-hop. I defy any of the new-fangled "artists" to create music this forward-thinking. Simply...stunning.
PM Dawn was a great group who never got the credit they deserved. Also, they have great taste as they sampled great music and added their style to it.
