Driving North on Route 9W in Cornwall on the Newburgh, New York boarder, I saw a train stopped on a siding. My wife pulled over so I could take photos when I heard the horn of another train from the other direction. I took photos of that train which can be seen on our web site at WWW.SKYANDTRAINS.COM. After the train passed we continued up the road and pulled over to cross the tracks when we saw the gates going down. Well the first train was off the siding and heading North. This is the video of that train.

  • The location of this video is neither Newburgh or Cornwall - it is New Windsor, NY.

  • You are right 100%. I'm not from that area and ended up there quite by accident. But I do remember seeing a sign that it was New Windsor, NY which was a beautiful ride up and a very nice area. Also all the people we met going out to eat and at stops were very nice.

  • You know how it works. It was about 3pm but so overcast that on the way home it really rained hard. This train was sitting on the siding a mile down while another train that I took photos of (on my web site under Trains Along The Hudson - Newburgh) passed us. Then he started North and we got this video. Great day! You can hear my wife Carol in the video shocked at how long the train was.

  • That was the longest train I ever seen. Good vid

  • Check out my YouTube Channel for other train videos. I work next to the tracks on the River Line in Bergenfield, NJ. I take videos all the time out back.

  • This is definitely Newburgh. I've been through there plenty of times.

  • What was once in that abandoned building in the background?

  • very nice video

  • Those trash container stacks half way through the videos, I don't see those anymore on NS, maybe outlawed? I see the big single containers now, but I likes the stacks. Anyway, cool video!
