The 15th prelude and fugue in the Well-Tempered Clavier No.1

Sound is a bit out of whack.
Certainly not my best recording as it is also done in one go. But enjoy it anyways :p!!!

Performer: The PianoGuy

P.S. This is how the prelude "should" be played. I saw this video of this guy totally messing with the prelude which pissed me off.

  • Oh ur fantastic!

Is there a site where I can find this piece?

  • not sure, i got a book, the WTC 1. i guess google is friend? LOL

  • I'm scared. I don't think i can play this fast by the exam!

  • lol i kinda rushed parts of the pieces, if you look on youtube there are some that take the piece quite slowly, sometimes too slow, but my performance is a bit faster than necessary because my teacher prefered it a bit faster since then it creates more excitement, but it all depends on your style.

  • good job,

but keep your fingers very nice and even.

    and have more dynamics.

i think the fugue is a bit too fast.

just tone it down a bit.

sorry if you dont like my tips,

but im playing this piece right now, and i love giving tips. :)

  • no your tips are valid and are appreciated, and i do agree the fugue is slightly fast because this piece was taken quite a while ago, now i have already finished my ARCT exam. good luck on this piece!

  • It's quite ignorant to write "P.S. This is how the prelude "should" be played. I saw this video of this guy totally messing with the prelude which pissed me off." and not do it perfectly yourself. You misses the trills in the fugue, and the tempo is very jumpy. Yeah, I know. Give me thumbs down if you like to, but that's fact, and not only my opinion.

  • good!

  • Very good!

  • There is no way I'm playing this for the competition. I'm stuffed lol. Nice job! I'm envious :P

  • Bach was crazy jaja

  • I agree with pokesurfer. You need to bring out whichever voice the subject is in most strongly, whether it be alto or tenor or bass or soprano. All I can hear is the right hand. More dynamics would also make it a more enjoyable musical experience.

  • i know, he's so good...

  • all of you really need to listen to utube4u4me playing this. He does an amazing job...

  • Nice.

  • especially since bach leaves NO markings in the score
