She was right, and only wanted the truth. As a young woman with some guts went to fight for it.. But only then she got a point down.., this is crazy! The umpire n lines have no clue..
She shouldn't get a point down..
I don't understand here you, haters people, who are saying she acted wrong.. and all the bad things about her.. You're wrong and out of reality..
She is the most honest n loving person I have ever known!
And best tennis player for me too..

Yes, a unique player. But not a "legend". Some people don't seem to know what this word means.
-
@Hoffenheim08 but you must admit she doesn't have any power, that makes her a uniqe player
-
A legend? Hingis??
Don't be silly.
Winning 5 slam finals against Pierce, Novotna, 17-yo Venus, Martinez and Mauresmo is not exactly breath-taking ...
-
Hingis is a legend and genius
all she said was true, and there is no out
Graf is also a legendary player
-
@jaaking2 Because, always, every point counts!

The crowd was definitely pro-Graf from the beginning. But that was no wonder as she was by far the most popular player in the 90s, especially at the end of her career.
And Hingis had insulted French player Mauresmo a few months before because she was gay.
But the mood became nasty only after this incident at 6-4 2-0. Hingis had it coming, she fully deserved the abuse, IMO.
-
oh well *shrugs*

Which Hingis error was celebrated before this incident?
Could you give an example?
Or are you simply lying as it so often the case with Hingis fans?
-
Just check what Hingis said about Graf, Novotna and Mauresmo in 1998/99.
The French crowd cannot be praised enough for showing this brat who they think about her behaviour.
@melende2000 Even if the ball was in,this was still a time where you had to respect the umpire's decision. There are plenty of videos showing the worst calls ever, still the players were respectful. In addition,it wasn't even a point ending shot,Steffi still could have won it.Next to that, Hingis was up a set and a break,so her reaction was in no way justified, she just wanted to act like a complete total bitch, and be disrespectful to a legendary player. She got what she deserved in the end.

Anyone can see that the umpires were pointing at a completely wrong spot at 0:20 , like a yard away really. Just compare to 0:54. You expect better refereeing at that level. But Hingis should´ve been above that, pity.
