Campaigning in the US the presidential elections is in full swing just ahead of some potentially decisive primaries on March 4 in Ohio and Texas.

But the republican frontrunner John McCain now appears a shoe-in to win his party's his nomination.

Cath Turner followed McCain for three days, around the states of Ohio and Texas.

In her time with the veteran turned Senator, and maybe soon president, this is what she saw.

McCain should be scared. Not only is he fighting an up hill battle against Obama but he even admits that his fortunes are tied to the war and whatever spin you put on the surge, Americans are not happy with the way this war has been waged and how long it has gone on. McCain doesn't offer any solutions so he's gonna loose. Even with his pandering to the extreme fundamentalist Christians like Hagee.
