You must not have read the entire thread, because you just said what I said a couple of replies up. See Larry Johnson and Karl Malone reply. I played basketball, my dad coached for 25 years. The act is not what is sissified, it's the strategy of running under the rim to take a charge.

Are you crazy taking a charge is not a sissy act. You could be kicked in the balls, elbowed in the face, not get the call. Someone never played basketball I see because it takes heart to take a charge especially for smaller players

"Wanna" isn't a word, thought I would do you the same favor. Especially since you started with the "idiot" talk. Being in good defensive position is indeed in the nature of the game. The defensive player is entitled to maintain good defensive postition anywhere on the floor, except under the DAMN RIM. College needs a semi-circle. Kids waiting under the rim to take a charge on a fast break? Instead of playing real defense, wait under the rim. Don't run the race, go straight to the finish line.
