Before there was YouTube, there was Public Access Cable! BackPorch Video was a video show that started in 1984 and was produced out of Dearborn, Michigan. It eventually won a National A.C.E award (Award For Cable Excellence), got picked up by (and thrown off) Detroit's PBS channel and aired on a small channel out of Ann Arbor, Michigan. This was a show created by young people for young people. The master-mind, Russ Gibb, still lurks in the shadows of Detroit's underground.

  • Hey Sunshine! You are correct,... they are just rambling. That's what 18 year olds do/did. But seeing that you are so experienced from the many paths of Life that you have forged through, it's obvious that these guys can not match your intellect. FYI, these guys were around way before Conan but I'll pass on the compliment along to them. Cheer up ... Life is short.

  • why the FUCK did youtube delete the backporchvideo archive? such horseshit. so many rare and important footage completely lost.

  • I remember this show from growing up in Detroit in the 80s. Nice to find it here!

  • @KevinHeaven9 I was wondering what happened to the channel. I totally agree, BPV was one of the most interesting things I've ever seen on the internet. Hopefully the videos will make it back online someday, if not on youtube.

  • It's horrible that their youtube channel was removed "due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube's copyright policy..." Their videos were interesting to watch, especially for someone who never experienced that era.

  • @TitaniumByFire this comment makes me like this video...thanks

  • I have the first section of this clip on VHS tape. I still break those tapes out to watch the awesomeness that was Dino and Stiv.

  • i miss the times when New Monkee's and all the groups they were in were around. Love you guys! great dino! way to funny!

  • WAY to funny Dino! (as always!)
