'Soundies' were an early version of the music video, displayed on a Panoram (a coin-operated film jukebox) in nightclubs, bars, restaurants, factory lounges and amusement centers during the early-mid 1940's.

  • There was also a song titled "The Same Old Story" which was written in 1940 with words and music by Michael Field and Newt Oliphant.

It was recorded by Frankie Masters and his orchestra ... Eddie Duchin with vocals by Johnny Drake ... Billie Holiday put out a record ... and my favorite was by Maxine Sullivan singing with John Kirby.
