@dideoxynucleotide Sorrry nut I totally disagree with you. I think Karl Bohm is the best Mozart conductor ever...once you hear him conducting mozart it's really difficult to approach any other conductor listening to WAM divine music...

I'm just not clear as to why Bohm always chooses to take such a heavy, plodding pace with his Mozart. Sometimes it works exceptionally well, but sometimes, especially in Mozart's airiest works, his pace makes the light airiness seem like a heavy fog.

I see what you mean and I think its the Opera which is throwing u off, not the language, he's probably the greatest lieder artist to and has great subtly but in opera its not about subtly, its about being big and grand and he's not necessarily that kind of singer. I mean I like this a lot because its refreshing but there is that factor of lieder artist vs. opera singer

I hate this film. Horrible acting, horrible setting, ok singing... but everything else is so camp and low-budget it hardly matters.
