    Can you punish those sagat uppercut whiffs with ultra ? Because it's 1 frame, I wonder if sagat would be like a milimiter away from the floor....

  • @crapzors yeah, totally. that's one of the reasons this green hand o-s is so sweet! it sets you up perfectly for ultra, 360k, green hand combos, whatever, and it sets up your buffer for 720 motions perfectly as well.

  • Can you do a safe meaty against characters who have a DP?

  • @KuramaElo To do a safe meaty, the opponent's reversal has to start up slower than your fastest meaty normal recovers plus 1 hitting frame.

    Gief's fastest-recovering normal is cr. jab, which recovers in 6 frames. But it's not useful unless you time it to hit the opponent if he sits, so add at least one active hitting frame. This means Gief's fastest safe meaty is 7 frames, so the fastest a reversal can be for Gief to safe meaty it is 8 frames. No dragon punch is that slow.

  • @KuramaElo you can do safe jumps, though. the window for doing a safe jump is smaller, so any reversal attack that starts up in 5 or more frames can be safe jumped. this still doesn't include dragon punches for ryu, ken, akuma, and dan, but it does work on sagat, cammy, and fei.

  • @93alvbjo Yep, you can. But I know a couple really really good Abels, and they don't bother with it. One of them tried it a few times in a tournament and messed it up and lost. I don't think it's really worth risking such a hard motion unless you're just about to lose anyway.

  • For safe meatys and safe jumps, how many frames does a special move need to be considered a slow?

  • i wonder if i can do all that in a real fight

  • how would these work against a command throw character like T. Hawk? Would u cross up with knees and then back dash in air and press d lp? WOuld that make you throw a crouching lp if he doesn't do anything and make u dash away if he tries to do his command throws? I'm still kind of confused about how these things work (i.e. when u enter the subordinate commands for the jumping O-S'es) but this is definitely eye-opening.
